Everyone loves the idea of helping others, but sometimes there’s just not enough time in the day! Portland is a vibrant and beautiful city, with plenty of ways to help those around you, while having fun at the same time. Here are just a few Portland events that caught our eye!
March 27, 2017: Good Wine for a Good Cause, Grace Restaurant
Love wine? Do good and enjoy the best wine that Portland has to offer at the Good Wine for a Good Cause event, hosted at Grace by SoPo Wine Company. No matter who you are, everyone has been touched in some way by the devastation that is cancer. At this 21+ event, there will be over 25 wineries, all at one tasting, along with delicious bites prepared by the chefs at Grace. Give back to the community and enjoy a night of wine ecstasy, all at the same time. At this event, you’ll find like-minded individuals who love good wine and food, as well as the opportunity to talk with the wine makers. Tickets are $30 ($35 if you buy them at the door) and can be purchased through Eventbrite. Proceeds from this event benefit the Cancer Community Center.
May 11, 2017: Toast on the Coast, Easterseals Maine
If you’re a fan of our fine dining scene in Portland (and we know that you are) the 6th annual Toast on the Coast event is one not to miss! Held at the Ocean Gateway, Toast on the Coast gives you access to Portland’s hottest chefs, along with local, gourmet food and fine wines to sip all night long. And while you’re eating and drinking to your heart’s content, proceeds from this amazing event benefit Easterseals Maine. Easterseals helps children with mental and physical disabilities, special needs, and veterans who have served for our country. This event sells out every year, so buy your tickets here!
April 27, 2017: Goodwill’s Little Black Dress Event
We love any and all Portland events that allow us to dress up in our favorite little black dress, especially when we get to help raise funds for Goodwill’s Veterans Fund at the same time! This annual event in Portland donates 100% of all funds raised to the Goodwill Veteran’s Fund. Last year’s event raised $75,000 which went directly back to the veterans and their families who need it the most. The Little Black Dress Event features a fashion show, silent auction, and cocktails, making it a must to attend this season! You can buy your tickets here.
April 8, 2017: Planet Dog Ball, Westin Portland Harborview
With so many things to do for those in need, there’s even an event to help our furry friends. The Planet Dog Ball will be a human and dog friendly event to raise funds, as well as awareness, for providing service dogs to those who need them most: American veterans. The event, held at the Westin Portland Harborview, will feature dinner, desserts, silent auctions, and a visit from the “TODAY” Puppy With a Purpose, Charlie. There will be fun activities for the dog attendees as well, like a doggy photo booth, an on-site dog walker, and a doggy treat bar. This is sure to be one of the best events of the season, and there are still tickets available! Buy your ticket to the Planet Dog Ball here!
When it comes to giving back, it can be difficult to find the time, but there are so many worthy causes you can support. Are there any fantastic Portland events we didn’t mention? Comment below and let us know!
